Great choice for easter. Fairly clean and exquisite place, very professional staff. Air conditioning and a safe box in the room, comfortable location. Nice interior design. Location close enough to all interesting sights and museums, the cafe, and Goethe. Also, right in the center.

The personl was very polite and courteous, the breakfast was rich and delicious, but for the price I would have expected a little more.
Unfortunately, the room had been insufficiently cleaned, the bed and the carpet had been soiled in a very unpleasant way by the previous guest( vomit) and only very superficially cleaned, so that the smell was unbearable, the carpet was cleaned again after our advice, but without a thorough examination of the causes and the extent. Unfortunately, we only noticed the whole extent on the day of our departure, after I had followed the matter more intensively and had 2 sleepless nights. For a hotel of this class, this is not to be excused and from my point of view, a basic cleaning with a new mattress and accessories should have been done and no immediate reoccupation of the room should have been done. We described the situation at the reception and got a voucher of 30 euros as an excuse for the inconveniences caused, but let's be honest, in this price range, something like this must not happen, someone could have reacted differently. This weekend was neither relaxing nor was it a pleasant stay. In retrospect I am annoyed that I was not more consequent on the first day and insisted on another room, it was unreasonable. I should have asked another room.

Central location made exploring easy. Historic charm infused throughout the hotel.
The historical double room felt cramped, barely a portion of the advertised size. Inconsistent Wi-Fi and an air conditioning system that couldn't be adjusted. Breakfast options were limited, lacking variety typically found in Germany.

The hotel maintained a classic charm, and the
Rooms were well-appointed, offering plenty of space and comfort. The restaurant's offerings were really good, though the bathroom design in my room could be improved to prevent water from escaping onto the floor.

It was my second time in Russischer Hof, where I stayed last year and truly loved it. Everything was perfect - we asked for a bigger room and received id, the bathroom was splendidly adorned, internet was free and this time we tried the excellent restaurant Anastasia - although it is not officially affiliated with the hotel, it is right there; and it was the best dinner we ever had in Germany. It was a marvelous stay again.
The breakfast was not as good as last year - there were much fewer salads, herring, desserts and no Turingian specialties at all, although sparkling wine was still there.

I really enjoyed my stay, especially with the spacious room and the super comfy bed, made it hard to leave! The sauna and steam room were great for unwinding after a long day exploring. Just a heads up, the Wi-Fi connection was a bit spotty, but it didn't ruin my overall experience 😊

Comfortable business and tourist hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location in the centre of the small city. Reasonable prices.
As often in Germany, beds are much too soft.
